Sink Into Serenity: Crafting a Coastal Oasis in Your Bathroom
Ahoy there, fellow design enthusiasts! Are you tired of the same old cookie-cutter bathroom looks and yearning to infuse your space with a little nautical flair? Well, batten down the hatches, because I’m about to take you on a voyage of transforming your bathroom into a serene coastal retreat.
As an avid fan of all things maritime, I’ve been dreaming of creating the perfect nautical-inspired bathroom for years. And let me tell you, the journey has been a wild ride, but the end result is nothing short of shipshape. From sourcing the perfect tile to curating the just-right accents, I’ve poured my heart and soul into this project, and I can’t wait to share the secrets of my success with you.
You see, I’m not one of those overly-planful decorators. Nope, I’m more of the “let the inspiration strike and run with it” kind of gal. And that’s exactly how this nautical bathroom of mine came to life. It all started with a chance encounter with the most gorgeous navy soap dispenser. Seriously, it was love at first sight. That little guy was the spark that lit the proverbial fire, and from there, the vision just started to take shape.
Dive Into the Details
Now, let me take you on a deep dive into the details of this coastal oasis. First and foremost, the foundation of this space is the stunning 2×8 Nautical wall tile from Fireclay Tile [1]. These babies are custom-made right here in the good ol’ U.S. of A., and let me tell you, the color variation is nothing short of mesmerizing. It’s like Mother Nature herself had a hand in creating these tiles, each one a unique work of art.
But the real showstopper? The floor, my friends. Now, I’ll let you in on a little secret – this was all my husband’s doing. That man has an eye for design, I tell you what. He had this inspo image saved of a simple mosaic tile, and I knew Fireclay Tile was the only way to go. Their 1×1 mosaic sheets in Daisy, with accents of Hunter Green, Mustard, Blue Velvet, and Dusty Blue, are the perfect complement to the wall tile [2]. It’s like the floor and walls were destined to be together, dancing in perfect harmony.
And let’s not forget the vanity – oh, the vanity! This bad boy was a Facebook Marketplace find, y’all. Yep, sometimes the best treasures are hiding in plain sight. We paired it with a rough-and-tumble trough sink that we scooped up in a late-night, two-hour drive adventure. Talk about dedication to the cause! The end result? Pure coastal charm, with a touch of industrial edge.
Splash into Sophistication
But the real pièce de résistance? The shower, my friends. I’m talking a show-stopping Bancroft tub and a chrome thermostatic shower system that would make any nautical enthusiast swoon [3]. I worked closely with the folks at Build with Ferguson to make sure my selections not only looked the part but also functioned flawlessly. And let me tell you, that tub – it’s the stuff of my wildest dreams. I can just picture myself sinking into a bubbly oasis, letting the stresses of the day melt away.
And the finishing touches? Well, that’s where the true magic happens. I’ve amassed quite the collection of vintage nautical knick-knacks over the years, and this bathroom was the perfect canvas to display them. From a stunning multi-sailboat painting to a corner gallery wall that would make any seaside aficionado proud, every nook and cranny of this space is dripping in coastal charm [4].
Batten Down the Hatches and Enjoy the Ride
So, there you have it, my fellow design enthusiasts. The journey to creating this nautical-inspired bathroom has been one wild ride, but the end result? Well, it’s nothing short of a serene coastal oasis that I can’t wait to sink into. Whether you’re a lifelong lover of all things nautical or simply looking to dip your toes into the coastal chic aesthetic, I hope this space has inspired you to set sail on your own bathroom transformation adventure.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got a date with a good book, a glass of wine, and that glorious tub. Bon voyage, my friends!
